I think it’s a heron (which is native to unlike the sand crane), but I’m not an ornithologist.

Yes, you are correct . . . it’s a Blue Heron. . . . Sandhill Cranes have a ‘red’ cap on their heads. . .
One bird is solitary as an individual and the other enjoys large group gatherings. Had to look this one up. Interesting birds. . .
