the above perl will not install owing to a conflict breaks dependency ‘perl<5.33’ required by perl-gtk2-unique

This is an AUR package, so you may be able to remove it if you don’t need it. Otherwise, you can remove it, update, then re-add the package afterwards.

The current package version doesn’t have that version dependency: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=perl-gtk2-unique#n16
