PDF4QT has a major long build time

Trying to find an open source pdf editor. I found one called PDF4QT. Is it any good? It is on AUR. It s been recently updated, so I decided to install it. I swear; it s been building and testing cxx objects for the last 10 minutes. It s still chugging along though, so I will just wait and see. I never saw such a long install…

Are you installing the bin version of this package ? I just installed it within minutes.
BTW always update before installing something.

Yep, I just installed pdf4qt-bin and it took less than a minute.

Not the bin version. It finally finished though. Now to figure it out

Just be ware of the fact if you receive an update of a “non bin” package it will start rebuilding it again.

Personally, I would run yay -Rns pdf4qt then run yay -S pdf4qt-bin

New install now. I installed the bin version this time. It was a lot faster. Seems petty, but there is one thing though. In the app menu in Budgie the various pdfqt icons are there,

but the running program icon in my panel is like a default gear icon. Is it the same for you?
gear

Because this is a QT based app designed for qt based DE’s (Plasma,Lxqt) and as far as I know budgie is GTK based, and has no icons for qt based apps you will get this icon.
