PC wont get past HP Logo after upgrade

Help :frowning:

I usually run an upgrade through paru about once every two days, so I can’t have been this out of date

This morning, booted PC and it went fine, did a paru -Syy and then paru -Su

Things seemed fine, the notable updates were minor version Linux firmware from 6.x.x to 6.x.x+1 and the accompanying nvidia as well as Firefox (not nightly)

Rebooted PC: and now it gets stuck on the HP Logo and wont continue further. I have gnome as my DE but didnt have grub, i chose the other bootloader (i dont remember what it was, sorry)

Help

You don’t choose the other bootloader? systemd is the default boot loader on EOS. If you chose another bootloader it would be grub.

I have the same problem. I’m using the default boot manager. Could it be caused by an update? Because I can open Windows from the BIOS screen.

Sometimes after a firmware or kernel update, certain systems get stuck at the OEM logo because of GPU driver conflicts. Testing with a fallback kernel or switching temporarily to Nouveau might help narrow down if it’s Nvidia-related.
