Password length check is inconsistent

Just registered an account so I figured I’d mention this while I remember it. The password length validation has an inconsistency before and after submitting.

When entering a password longer than 200 characters it initially says something like “the password looks good” below the field. However when submitting the form it responds that there is a limit of 200 characters. Nothing major but it would be neat if this was consistent and caught already by the initial check instead of it saying it looks good

i reckon the real issue here is …why the hell does anybody need a 200 character password??
joy

you would need to report this to authors of this software: https://www.discourse.org/

BTW. Nice job of reaching level 2 in QA :sparkles:

Need and need, I just always default to 256 characters in my password manager. Not like it is any more work to copy paste than 64 characters.

Until that fateful day you realize you can’t use your password manager and have to type it in.

And remember it!

one usually ,and preferably , don’t copy/paste with a password manager.
it’s not safe. It should auto-fill.

Darn, I could even remember π only up to 56 decimal digits!

(Competitive as I am sometimes, I learned that 54 years ago in school, because my math teacher could do 52 digits. So I just had to better him… )
