Yeah, that was something that got me annoyed, and then gradually more and more content after installing EOS on my laptop. I was on Arch before Antergos, and then after the demise I went back to Arch on the lap. Arch on a laptop that I really need to be functional makes me slightly nervous, but what to do…?
Anyhow, I had this long list scribbled down of things that I should get done after installing Arch, in front of me after installing EOS.
Microcode… Ok, taken care of. Fine.
Yay… but wtf… taken care of
Downgrade… Finally something to do (comes installed now)
…and so on. 
I noticed that I had a GUI tool called Package Updater/gnome-packagekit (gpk-update-viewer) in Cinnamon’s application menu. It does not require root password input ( which is a bit odd, or isn’t?) and gets the job done really fast.
