Pacman 7.0.0.r6.gc685ae6-2 update

Edit: multilib should not be removed for most users.


I believe multilib can be removed from pacman.conf. At least paclist multilib didn’t bring up anything for me.

This is my pacman.conf after the update with merges:

Multilib is used by e.g. wine and 32 bit thingies as far as I know. So I still need it.

From the Arch wiki :

multilib

This repository can be found in .../multilib/os/ on your favorite mirror.

multilib contains 32-bit software and libraries that can be used to run and build 32-bit applications on 64-bit installs (e.g. wine, steam, etc).

With the multilib repository enabled, the 32-bit compatible libraries are located under /usr/lib32/.

I guess if you don’t use it there’s no harm in disabling it.

yes its not a must have core repo it is for lib32 support needs.
But EndeavourOS have this enabled by default… a lot users will need for steam per example…
