Glad to hear that, Joe. Knowledge makes the world go round (kinda stolen phrase).
BTW, can we address you as… “Der programmer” from now on?
Take your time. The one thing I love the most about your disto is that everybody takes there time to insure quality over some deadline.
Besides, it’s arch. You are only one yay command from a freshly updated system. Is there really a major reason to have a fresh ISO besides the need for a newer kernel? Is this something we can patch downstream as a regular user?
I would love to help but my knowledge is still limited. I thought I was good at computers until I started playing with Arch. Soo much to learn…
BTW, @UncleSpellbinder, that new wallpaper is stunning!
Thanks, @jputnam!
Thanks. EndeavourOS’ XFCE theming is the best around.
There isn’t a day when I’m not using EOS for my work, - incredibly grateful for such a solid OS. Keep up the great work! No rush on releases!
I cannot think of a better distribution than Endeavour OS. I’ve jumped ship a time or two since May of last year, but I keep coming back. There’s just nothing better!
Thanks, but I have a question - how to upgrade via xfce terminal, just ,yay” will be enought?
Yes. We are rolling if you stay updated that is all you need.
welcome to the purple universe
wow. that’s fantastic. how?
edit: hold that thought: @joekamprad had some links up near the top I’m going to chase–as in how did you make legacy/efi work
First of all, congratulations on the launch! Lift off!
I wanted to report that the installer with the Nvidia option on an RTX 5090 does not work; it boots to a black screen. I don’t have time to see what the error is because after the boot log, it transitions to a black screen.
So far, the only way I’ve been able to boot EndeavourOS with an RTX 5090 is by installing using the “Default” profile and then installing the drivers manually using nvidia-inst
.
Any ideas?
There is a known issue, from what I have heard you can set your PCIe from Gen 5 to Gen 4 and that should resolve it until Nvidia can fix their drivers.
Will try tomorrow, thank you!
sorry to read that. 5090 is pretty new still and we just got a Kernel update in (6.12 to 6.13)
I would like to see you reporting back if it persists, in general it should not make a difference if you install with nvidia-inst or over the initial install.
And welcome here
Der (Software)Architekt?
Your very welcome.
