Last Friday (I think?), I started my computer and on the login screen appeared an onscreen keyboard out of nowhere. I didn’t modify any conf. file.
I checked the settings in Plasma and as far as I can tell, that shouldn’t have happened, but it does at every login. I checked Arch Wiki. Nothing. I looked here on the forum. Nothing. How do I get rid of this pesky keyboard?
When I logout, the only way to display the virtual keyboard by clicking on the button in the bottom left, next to the session selector. If it’s shown, there is the hide keyboard as an entry key, which should minimize it again to get back to the regular password screen. I guess you’ve used it to get into the system ? Try to minimize it and log in as usual.
But I should note that I’m using the eos-Brezze Login Screen (SDDM), depending on your choice within System Setting > Colors & Themes > Global Theme > Login Screen (SDDM), the actual UI might be different. As far as I can tell, there aren’t configuration options to display the virtual keyboard per default, it may carry over in between sessions, if you’ve used it as an input method.
