I have nothing to say. Nothing BAD that is.
First time on any Arch based distro, ran many Debian and Ubuntu based ones in the last 13 or so years. NONE of them where bad or useless.
EOS though is in a different league when it comes to speed and overall stability. It’s relentless. When I installed on bare metal and started to install my usual apps it took no time to get them from the pacman repo and install them. When using the above mentioned distros it would always a little bit of time to install dependencies or even downloading them. Not with EOS. Virt-manager for example, it was a matter of seconds (literately) to install despite the long list of dependencies. Firejail, same thing. Boom, it’s there and it works immediately. Dunno if said speed is and Arch thing specifically but the difference is noticeable.
I run Puppy Linux a lot which is still the fastest out there but EOS comes very very close. Kudos on that.
GNOME DE: Never used that before either and I only choose this DE because it is getting so much hate so I wanted to see what the fuss is all about. Have to say though I sort of see where they are coming from. It is wayward in how it is doing things, it is not very intuitive BUT once you get the idea and “make friends” with it and accept it’s different it does everything any other DE would do. But yeah, it does take some tile to get to know it. And that is ok. I am still not comfortable with it yet but I’ll stick with it. I’ll make it my own eventually.
All in all I will stick with EOS. Thanks for an excellent distro. Now if you will excuse me I am going to explore some more.
