On boot this morning, it got stuck on graphical interface, flickers

I was able hitting random keys to get it to a tty interface and was able to log on. I can do a ls -l and see all the directories.

This is probably the result of some weird behavior last night on a Zoom call, when I did some screen sharing, and it seems to have partly hosed up at the time, didn’t worry about it, just shut the computer down normally, but restarting today, no bueno.

How do I diagnose this? I’m on a backup machine.

Thanks in advance for suggestions.

My hardware is an old Dell 9020, intel graphics, plain vanilla.

Problem solved. I just did a pacman -Syu, full upgrade under tty, and on reboot everything is working again.
