Okay, let's do this: Wayland in parallel

Good morning,

I have a very standard Xorg Budgie installation. As far as I heard, during logon there’s the possibility to select the session, whether it be Xorg or Wayland. Currently, there’s nothing to select, but I guess if you only have one there’s no selection option.

So how do I go about adding Wayland as a selectable option during logon? The Wayland part of the Arch Wiki was not very specific in that regard. Also, I am not sure if there are Budgie specific processes to keep in mind.

I’ll take any hints I can get.

Thanks.

If I am not mistaken, Wayland on Budgie will be supported with the release of Budgie 11.

Have a look at:

In the ARM world, Odroid N2+ is very usable with KDE plasma & Wayland. It has a couple of quirks, but nothing that is a show stopper so far.

Most of the other platforms (RPi 4/5, Radxa, etc.) are pretty good with Gnome and Cinnamon on Wayland, but not Plasma.
