Is this on Gnome? On the login screen to the bottom right did you change to log in on x11
Yes, Gnome. And I did switch between Wayland and Xorg from the cogwheel at the bottom right. I donāt really know what I should be looking at, at this moment.
Me either. What graphics? AMD? If so make sure Mesa is installed.
No, just Intel iGpu:
Graphics: Device-1: Intel UHD Graphics 620 driver: i915 v: kernel
Device-2: Microdia Integrated_Webcam_HD type: USB driver: uvcvideo
Display: x11 server: X.Org 1.20.9 driver: intel unloaded: fbdev,modesetting,vesa resolution: 1920x1080~60Hz
OpenGL: renderer: Mesa Intel UHD Graphics 620 (WHL GT2) v: 4.6 Mesa 20.1.7
Is this issue just new on Gnome or did you have it before on Xfce or other desktop?
@pebcak
What is the output here?
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
This is new on Gnome. I havenāt had this issue on other DEs. I have tried EOS-Gnome on this macine and another Dell laptop. In both Iāve got the same issue. This one actually came with Ubuntu preinstalled, nuked since a good while. But everything worked.
Here is output:
cat /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf
cat: /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf: No such file or directory
Okay⦠do you have the intel driver installed?
xf86-video-intel
Yes, I do.
The mode-setting driver is supposedly better instead of the Intel.
should I remove xf86-video-intel then?
It looks like you are running on the modesetting driver but the Intel is still installed.
Alright, Iāll go for removal. Wish me luck!
Monkeys seem to be loose on this system!!
Removed xf86-video-intel. Reboot. Both Xorg and Wayland, same issue. The odd thing is that the scrolling is just fine in Epiphany and other apps.
I think I will leave this now for the moment. Itās 3:30 AM over here. I should get some hours of sleep.
Thanks @ricklinux for helping me out with this. I appreciate it. I donāt want to give up on this. I feel the solution is just right around the corner. We just have to find the right corner
Goodbye for now!

Iām not that familiar with Gnome but i would check the Window settings for animation or effects and try it with these turned off. Youāll have to experiment. One at a time. Test and if no change turn it back on.
