Obtainium - Get Android App Updates Directly From the Source

That’s on you for using dirty corpos! :joy:

Yeah me same…know your sources, maintain your own security, learn to check what :parrot: brought to the table…and you’ll be juuuuust fine

On my old phone I had a hilarious situation when app after last updates was working in 1 out of 100 tries to use it.
But I had no problems with opening their website on the same phone in chrome and making the same operations.

I actually can’t even remember for what reason I was recommended to install their app.
Even 2FA functionality is also available from the website.

My bank uses secure-TAN. I think this is one of the most secure standards as far as banks are concerned. I would never use a bank website, let alone a banking app, with 2FA.

What the hell is TAN?

Yes but thats a different topic. You’ve to setup your own threat model for it. I’m not selling my kidney to buy Pixel phone to use GrapheneOS, neither I’m ready to use Linux phone nor I’ve plans to be a saint & go for Nirvana at the moment.

I’m not against Obtanium it’s a great & useful project, actually they’re also not against F-Droid (inclusion planned).

It just makes no sense to me when people say F-Droid has issues & instead they’ll trust random developers/sites & use Obtanium at the same time…

Great…they’ve rebranded 2FA via OTP, such innovative approach to banking!

That’s what i call secure:

This is called the Chip-TAN procedure. With the chipTAN procedure, the TAN required for the transfer is generated by a chip card reader - also known as a TAN generator. This TAN generator has a number field and card slot for the bank card (EC card). There are five optical sensors on the back to receive the flickering graphic (flicker code).
The big advantage of this method: The TAN generator is a dedicated device with no connection to the computer or smartphone. Even if the computer or smartphone is compromised, the transfer is only authorized via the EC card on the TAN generator - both are on the table in front of you and are offline. If you check the data shown on the display of the TAN generator during an online transfer (recipient, transfer amount, etc.), the security of the chipTAN procedure can be classified as “secure”. Or put another way: The probability that criminals will scam security-relevant data such as the TAN is very low.

I guess they got so much data about you that now their AI can predict all your future actions so they don’t trouble you unnecessarily.

But  tube says that TAN is already hacked by those crazy ladies…

Even I cannot predict my future actions, so I hope their data centers will melt down trying to calculate it.

You can buy older one though…but yeah prices are NUTS, especially considering prices of much better hardware of Xiaomi…But i guess it’s fair price for Graphene. :upside_down_face:
