NVME Drive Doesn't Auto-Open When Attached In Cinnamon

Hello.

This is my 1st post to a new os I am trying out , just coming from Linux mint 22.3

That gave me issues , like “ NVIDIA Persistence Damon not running” along with others .

I used to Run Manjaro Cinnamon , But that is a hot mess right now with their official community edition over 6 months old and 1 release behind .

I will admit that this OS , Endeavor. has been a challenge . But so far so good.

Just one minor issue , I have a USB drive that Allows You to use a NVME drive , a old spare I had left over . I formatted it in Linux mint to EX4. while installed in my computer then , installed that into the drive USB drive adapter . works But will not auto launch . I installed Udiskie but no joy .

(Thumb drives work as expected and auto launch . ) I did install Gnome disk utility so how can I fix this ?

Hello @brothergc and welcome to the forum!
Supposing this drive is mostly attached I found this workaround:

sudo mkdir -p /media/myNVME
sudo blkid -c /dev/null

find yr disk. In my case:
/dev/sdc: UUID="d4adb465-914c-48d3-adff-294236df3656" ...

I added the line below to /etc/fstab
UUID="d4adb465-914c-48d3-adff-294236df3656" /media/myNVME ext4 defaults,nofail,user 0 0

In case the drive is not attached at boot time it will fail that’s why the nofail option.
Should you attach yr usb later then
either
sudo mount -a
or
a click is needed to the drive in Nemo
