Nvidia Wayland bug libEGL_nvidia.so.0 ==> libdrm-2.4.123/xf86drm

Hi, I’ve been experiencing a gui crash of the Digikam application under Wayland. I opened a bug report at kde.org and the developers have traced it to the Nvidia libraries and advised to contact the distro packager with all details to reproduce, as they are unable to fix it. Therefore I’m posting it here (Perhaps this should be reported to the Arch packagers instead, but I’m not sure how receptive they are to EndeavourOS users?)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Open Digikam in a Wayland Session
  2. Open Settings menu, select Configure Digikam
  3. GUI Crash

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: EndeavourOS Kernel 6.11.3-arch1-1 (64-bit)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.2.1
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.70
Qt Version: 6.8.0

Further details here:

“I don’t think we can fix it, ultimately it crashes in libEGL_nvidia.so.0 ==> libdrm-2.4.123/xf86drm.”

I’d be grateful if you could look into this or advise on how best to proceed.

Hi there,
I am also experiencing the same problem. However, I am not sure where to report this.

Best,
Mai

It seems the Digikam developers were able to fix this bug after all. I haven’t been able to test it yet myself but hopefully an update will be forthcoming soon.
