Nvidia E-gpu set up

Hi! I try to set up my nvidia rtx3036ti but I run int some errors. Maybe it doesn’t make my task easier that I use sway…

I think I installed everything I have to:

When i start my laptop with egpu plugged in i got this error:

Based on this, what does sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset return ?

But that is only addressing the [drm:nv_drm_atomic_commit [nvidia_drm]] ERROR [nvidia-drm] [GPU ID 0x00002200] Flip event timeout on head 0 that you get, first I’ld check if the other errors related to iwlwifi and such also occur when you’re booting without the eGPU.

Could you please share the output of:

sudo cat /sys/module/nvidia_drm/parameters/modeset

You should expect a result of Y if it’s correctly set.

You may need the following in the command line. Not sure if it’s already there and are you using grub or systemd-boot.

nvidia-drm.modeset=1

Edit: Eos is using dracut not mkinitcpio

“Cold Boot” Trick: Power off the eGPU and the laptop. Plug the eGPU in. Turn on the eGPU first, wait 5 seconds, then boot the laptop.
