pacman -Qi lib32-nividia-utils

When you installed steam did you notice if it replaced that lib32 file with another? It is working though so Iā€™m not concerned.

Edit: Or did you not install it in the first place?

As you can see it was explicitly installed. So not sure why itā€™s not showing. Did you install it or no?

Needs to be run without sudo, lol

It must be installed then. Maybe you made a mistake i the command

pacman -Qi lib32-nvidia-utils

Okay then ā€¦ watch what you use sudo for. Never use it with yay.

Edit: Always pay attention to the output when updating or installing a package or what ever. This is very helpful.

Yeh always tells me off with yay  ill be careful, it must have been checking root for a package along that line installed and couldnt find it? I dunno im not too well versed in how pacman works just yet

Im still unsure what was causing my black screens thenā€¦only other things i did was install gamemode, mangohub and protonup-qt

Use man commands such as man pacman or look at the wiki on the arch page.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/pacman

Not sure but could be something with these? Donā€™t really know. Youā€™'ll have to watch what you do when you install stuff and check before moving on to the next thing.

This discussion is making me wonder if I can fix the black screen by uninstalling Steam related stuff. That could very much work, right?

Its worth a try, i went nuclear and just reinstalled the OS
