Of course, you can use i3 on top of XFCE. Here is a tutorial on how to do that.

Yeah it does. Using enter auto selects the default unless you need to change something. But always read the messages first.
I don’t think it’s that complicated just follow the steps accordingly.
oh wow!!! this seems too technical for me lol. Maybe I will try and find a video that will be much easier. Or someday try again installing the online version. Thank you so much for your support.
No problem friend. I think something was not letting the lightDM to load the xsession with i3. It is really strange though.
Try to set the resolution with xrandr (or ArandR) and name it as monitor.sh
The other workaround is to boot with LTS kernel

Don’t worry about it we were all new at some point. You have to open a terminal and type arandr. A GUI will open. Then just follow the link or search i3 on the EndeavourOS wiki and the information is there.

it only applies to i3.
I am lost… thats ok, maybe I will try and solve it some other day. I thought with the installer it will be easy and would not require this much technical knowledge. I saw some youtube videos and ppl don’t seem to have any trouble, it installs right out of the box. Maybe I am having a bad day lol

also on 1st try of install i3 you post that when you
nano /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf
it was empty?
English is not an issue, as what I am facing since morning is all french to me lol. Yes I got xfce installed but could not get i3 on it as it was too complicated for me. So I again installed the online version hoping that someone could guide me. I just cannot believe why this is so difficult when most youtubers install it with the installer without an issue.
