Try the suggestion in the following link in your installed system: “online-ly” installed or offline-ly but updated to the latest and the greatest:

If you are using the latest kernel with a recent intel cpu you may need to add ibt=off as kernel parameter in grub. Either that or switch to the LTS kernel.

Booting only works with the LTS kernel
