Non-GRUB users: how do you handle boot crashes?

Hi everyone,

I’ve been using systemd-boot as my bootloader, but I’m considering switching to GRUB mainly because of btrfs/snapper - grub integration. Before I make the jump, I’d love to hear from people who don’t use GRUB:

What kind of precautions or recovery steps do you rely on in case your system fails to boot?

Thanks in advance! :cupcake:

About half my systems are using GRUB, the other half are using systemd-boot. For those without btrfs snapshots, about the only boot recovery I’m aware of (and have used when needed) is booting from the Live ISO and restoring boot via arch-chroot.

Ah, Thanks!
Never heard of arch-chroot before. That’s nice.
I will stick sytemd-boot for now.

Thanks, Blink :cupcake:

Yep that saved me too on GRUB.

This covers a bunch..
