I have searched for this issue on the nomachine forums and elsewhere. Have found no good answers, no solutions. So thought I’d check whether anybody on EndeavourOS or other Arch-based OS may have encountered it and found a solution.
So Eos sound is pipewire. And nomachine detects that and put it in /usr/NX/etc/node.cfg
AudioInterface pipewire
I checked /usr/NX/var/log/nxinstall.log and it shows checking for pipewire and pulseaudio and updating node.cfg appropriately.
Yet, no sound. I actually just uninstalled/reinstalled to start with fresh configs.
My client machine (MX-Linux, pulseaudio) gets sound when I connect to NXServer on a Windows machine. So it’s not the client, specifically.
Sound on my EOS server does play, through its own speakers, when my client is controlling the remote desktop.
Anybody had this problem and worked through it?
I’m also open to alternatives to nomachine. I’ve looked for them, but it seems most people recommend nomachine as fastest/best quality. I do not want to log in remotely, I want to connect to an already-logged-in desktop.
