No input/USB devices work on hyprland launch, have to unplug and replug

Very strange bug,
Every time i boot up into hyprland, no input devices work except when i unplug and re plug them back in (all of them work again after closing and opening the laptop lid).
This is weird since it perfectly works in my login screen (LightDM) and other WMs.

Mouse is easy to deal with by just unplugging and re-plugging, but the laptop keyboard is a pain since i have to close the lid and open it again to get it and the touch pad working.
Any ideas?

Did you end up finding a fix? Same issue here on Arch+Hyprland.

EDIT: I was also using LightDM, and that turned out to be the issue. I fixed it by changing to GDM.

Process below:

sudo pacman -S gdm
sudo systemctl enable gdm.service -f

At this point, reboot and it will throw you into GDM. You will have to choose Hyprland in the settings icon on the bottom right, as it defaults to Gnome. Feel free to try out other display managers and report successes/failures.

Cheers.

Sup m8!

Thank you so much! It works perfectly, its sad to see LightDM go since i used to customize it alot, but since GDM works amazingly, i guess ill have to switch.

Thank you again, this problem has been bugging me for a month or so.

Cheers!

Yes, i didn’t remember, but I had the same issue. LightDM just didn’t work as well as SDDM did for me. It apparently has some issues somewhere.
