No headset microphone on acer nitro v 16

My laptop doesn’t seem to detect the headset microphone (connected through jack) from my headset (and yes, acer nitro laptops do have support for a combo jack). Looking the issue up online it seems to be a common issue amongst acer nitro laptops, but no solution i’ve tried has worked. The audio quality from the headphones is also worse compared to those same headphones on my old laptop that uses windows. I can provide further information if needed

Hi! Is this issue fixed for you? We have the same machine. I installed recently, but it’s still an issue for me. I tried jack reassignment with hdajackretask, but to no avail.

How were you able to fix it? Thanks!

hi! i sadly wasn’t able to solve it, but i did find a workaround!!

usb headphones use a completely different system of detecting and using a headset (as long as they have dac, you should make sure of that). i knew apple’s jack to usb-c adapter had dac so i bought it and now i use the adapter and connect my headset via usb-c and it works flawlessly. it also fixed the audio quality issue
