No ethernet connection (Intel i217-V) USB live install

Based on the following post, I’m experiencing the same issue; https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/no-ethernet-connection-usb-live-install/

Using latest Endeavouros_Cassini_Nova-03-2023_R3 iso on USB stick for a ROG Asus motherboard with the intel i217-V network adapter.

Yes, I know I can install it and see if it works then, but I’m not hopeful if the installer is already giving me issues and I really want Plasma/KDE from the get-go, as Galileo was postponed. Hoping if anyone found a solution already.

Welcome! :smile:

You are amazing. This was driving me insane. For future generations; apparently the problem is that the LAN chipset has its own bios that remembers Wake-On-LAN and Power Management settings. Turning these off alone in your BIOS doesn’t help. So the solution was as follows;

  1. Download (possibly older) Intel drivers WITH the Intel PROset and the Intel Advanced Network Services from their site (look for Intel® Network Adapter Driver on https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/download-center/home.html) for Windows.
  2. Change the Adapter Settings → Ethernet Properties → Configure and go to Power Management. Disable all Power Saver Options and Wake on LAN checkmarks. Of course also in your BIOS.
  3. Done.

Thank you so much.
