No audio in Brave browser but works fine in Firefox

Title says it all really. I’ve tried all the suggested solutions that I found on the Brave help site. Sound works fine on Firefox. I’m using EndeavorOS of course as my main OS.

I have ensured that sound is enabled in the settings, uninstalled and reinstalled, disabled all extensions…
I also created another user to see if this would pin it down to something to do with my specific user settings. It must be this, as audio works fine from the newly created user account. I cannot think of what this could be. Any help would be greatly appreciated as always.

In your original user profile, close Brave, rename the following folder, and then start Brave again to test it.

mv .config/BraveSoftware .config/BraveSoftware-bkp

You may also want to do this for the WirePlumber folder in case the above doesn’t work.
In this case, you would also need to rename the above folder again and reboot.

mv .local/state/wireplumber .local/state/wireplumber-bkp

moved first folder and restarted Brave. No change.
Moved second folded to bkp and restarted Brave, Still no change.

From a terminal run this so I can see what you have and post it here:

ls .config

And

ls .local/state

Please do the above before retrying the below instructions.

Did you also reboot your computer? After renaming the WirePlumber folder, you NEED to reboot for it to take effect.

Full process:

mv .config/BraveSoftware .config/BraveSoftware-bkp
mv .local/state/wireplumber .local/state/wireplumber-bkp

Reboot.
Check Brave audio.

Yes, it’s back. Great work. Thanks much!
