No album art with Ryhthmbox 3.4.8.4

Hi,

Using Rhymthbox on EOS Gnome latest version, there is no cover displayed in the application.

A defect was created on Rhythmbox Gnome gitlab (https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/rhythmbox/-/issues/2121), but dev said this was not an issue with the App. Which is confirmed as there is no such issue on Fedora or Debian using same rhythmbox version.

Dev said :

This appears to be just the pygobject/girepository thing again. nothing we can do here.

So it appears to be a packaging issue for Archlinux if I am correct.

Being new to EOS and Arch, I don’t know what is the next step ? Should I create a defect ? but where ?

Thank you for your help.

Arch seems to be lagging behind considerably on update on this one as the package is flagged out of date.

If you will still have the issue with the soon, I hope, updated version, you could file a report at

https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/rhythmbox/-/issues

Thank you for the answer. I will wait for an updated version so.

In the meantime, I am discovering Deadbeef player, which is pretty amazing and powerfull !

It has been a long time since I used Gnome, but I seem to remember something about dleyna. dleyna is not in the EnOS Gnome package list, so I doubt it is installed unless it is a dependency for some other package(s). See if dleyna is installed.

pacman -Q dleyna

If dleyna is not installed
try installing dleyna

sudo pacman -Syu dleyna dleyna-server

and see if that fixes it.

Thank you, but Rhythmbox, as a standalone audio player, does not need any DLNA related software. From what I’ve read, dleyna can be useful for some additional rhythmbox plugin related to DLNA. But this is not the case here.
Neverheless, I did a quick test, and no change !
