Nework brother printer not working

Hi.

I’m tring confirure brother dcp1622 network printer. Was working fine with other Arch distro last week.
Now when I open cups I see printer and I’m adding it but when trying print something it’s not working at all…
I’m not great with printer configuration so not sure what output I can shaw you ?

Any help would be apriciate.

Thanks,
Lukasz

sequence matters with these things. strip out/uninstall anything you have tried. reboot with printer unplugged. boot up. now plug in printer. then open the DE’s printer dialogue box and manually pick a driver. Mine was not in list so I picked a model number similar.

maybe.

lots of other reasons it wont print. you actually need the real driver. sometimes I’ve had to manually add the ipaddress. In your case Brother only offers an RPM or DEB package. I’ve cracked open rpms before and forced an .sh script to run (only once in this lifetime).

if it was me, and Endeavour was new to me…I would look, memorize, and take notes of all the boxes and settings in the print dialogue boxes in the functioning Arch distro and compare what you have now. maybe its driverless? or uses a driver from the AUR or regular repos?

good luck where there’s a will there’s always a way and printers I always get eventually and sometimes its a battle :grinning:

I have installed that printer few weeks ago on Garuda (arch based distro) and was working fine than I tested CachyOS and was working fine as well. So I think I know how to do that but here I can install printer (add it in cups) but it’s just not printing at all.
