Hi all,
New to the Forum and Endeavor. Preparing my backup system now after using Timeshift and Pika on Pop!os.
This guide seems to be the one mentioned as the one to follow for Snapper install: https://www.lorenzobettini.it/2023/03/snapper-and-grub-btrfs-in-arch-linux/
Just checking to see if other users like this guide (find it works) or if there might be a better one.
Also wondering what people use for a file level backup. For me, Snapper is for system restores first and foremost. As stated, Pika was a good choice for Pop!os but I’m not sure what is popular for Arch based distros and why. My main goal is to be able to perform file level restores and have something like a Grandfather, Father, Son backp all the way down to daily or hourly.
And advice for a newb would be appreciated!

generally I’d use the arch wiki or endeavour wiki over any 3rd party article.

snapper is in the endeavour repo.
me either
I still do this with grsync..
Constantine was a brilliantly under-rated Keanu movie. I really liked it. The DC Constantine based in Liverpool was an entirely different person. You gotta love adaptations.
TLDR: as far as arch/endeavour stay with the official lit and ask questions here like you are. My 2 cents.
Welcome to Endeavour.
Thanks much. Appreciate the input and will trial Arch wiki as my first stop/knowledge base while cutting my teeth in Endeavor.
Glad Snapper is in the repo. My experience installing it on Fedora with encryption was that it’s a bit tricky. Timeshift is a different animal with the @home and @ for root.
Couldn’t agree more about Constantine. All time fav. Looking forward to the long awaited sequal, assuming it clears that last couple hurdles. It’s been greenlit apparently, just a matter of scheduling or something like that.
