Hey there,
I have been using Manjaro for the last two years (before that a lot of other distros).
I liked the look of endeavouros so I decided to try it last month and I installed it on my desktop. I’m running KDE Plasma which I know well having using it for the last 5 years. I like the customization, the multiple options.
I have managed to change kernel for a LTS one, and I installed a few apps using the terminal.
For the moment the system is stable and I had no issues with the updates so I’m happy.
I’ll probably ask for help and try to provide mine when I’ll be more efficient.
See you soon on the forum,
Aloun

Hi, @aloun77 !
Bienvenue, Aloun! This is a good place to be.
Hi!
Glad I came across your post. I’m trying to decide at present between Endeavor and Manjaro. Coming from Pop!os which is great but looking for AUR access. Can you tell me as a recent Manjaro convert what made you choose Endeavor? I like Endeavor but the impression I get is that Manjaro has more users, documentation etc. Yet it has a reputation for being unstable according to some. I’ve been using Linux about a year. Not a genius at it but not a complete newb. Comfortable with command line etc but still like me a good GUI.
Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forum.
In my opinion, the major problem with Manjaro is that they delay updates for a couple of weeks for additional testing. This means bug fixes and security patches might not be pushed in a timely fashion and it can also cause problems with the aur. Both of these can be fixed by switching to their “unstable” branch which just mirrors the Arch repositories. Don’t let the unstable scare you, it just means it hasn’t been through their process not that it crashes all the time.
Of the two, I would recommend Endeavour (of course I would, this is an endeavour forum) because it is basically Arch with a nice installer, good out of the box setup, and a few helper tools.
Thanks for that input. Very valuable for a new user (to Arch) and not yet certain of how everything works. I like ease of use (Manjaro) but stability is more important. Thus Endeavor seems to win out. Also ability to use AUR without thinking twice.
