Ok so is the menu showing now?

@ricklinux you have more experience than what I do, so I guess you could look at that terminal output

Yes, in the laptop screen, which means everytime I want to see it on the monitor, I need to open and close the lid which is a hassle as I put many light objects on top of the screen when its closed and I’m using the monitor

Oooh! So is everything fine on the laptop?

What does inxi -Ga show?

In a restart, the menu wouldn’t show until I played with the switch to laptop screen, switch to external screen several times and it finally came back.

sudo pacman -S dmidecode

sudo pacman -S xorg-xdpyinfo

Then run inxi -Ga again

Not sure it worked, it went very fast, maybe the mirros need changing. here are the results.

This is good as it gives you all the info regarding Graphics. It’s a hybrid graphics with Intel and Nvidia. It’s running on Nouveau open source for the Nvidia.

So my question is you said you have it hooked up to another monitor?

Yes, I am now working through the monitor, the laptop lid is closed.

Okay so it may be switching from Intel to the open source nouveau to run off the monitor. What happens when you leave the laptop lid open always. Do you have the same issue?

Yes. I need to paly around with the button for monitors, choose external, the laptop screen several times until the menu shows.

Can you check if this is installed

A lot of people uninstall that file because it isn’t needed and you run off of the kernel module. Most don’t have any issues uninstalling it and it’s actually recommended but i can’t guarantee you won’t have a black screen when rebooting so you’d have to try it.

Also check if there is anything listed under MODULES=

cat /etc/mkinitcpio.conf

I forgot where KDE has the option to show all files.

ok got it. Cant find folder cat

Not sure what you are looking for but under Dolphin it’s view show hidden files.
