Need Help: Okular on GNOME downloads URLs instead of opening browser

Hi all,

I’m running Okular on a GNOME desktop under EndeavourOS.
When I click a URL inside a PDF, it does not open in my browser. Instead, Okular downloads the web file to:

~/.cache/kioexec/krun/5953_0/unnamed

What I’ve already checked:

  • xdg-open works correctly

  • kde-open5 also works correctly

  • MIME types and default browser associations are set correctly

  • Opening URLs from other applications works as expected

Given that xdg-open, kde-open5, and MIME types are all properly configured, what other components or settings could cause Okular to behave this way on a non-KDE (GNOME) desktop?

What else should I be looking at?
