Hello
I am using gnome now for a while. I am used to be able to search for an installed application after i clicked on a file and opened the “Open with …” dialogue. A couple of months ago I switched to endeavouros and now I noticed the feature is missing. It also does not work, when I press control+f and enter something to search.
I tested a VM with also gnome and there it works. Now I am wondering if there is something I can try to have this Application Search function back.
How I expect it:
Gnome Version 48
In my installation it is not working: EndeavourOS, GNOME version 49, Wayland, Linux 6.12.53-1-lts, GTK version.
If I reach this gui, I do not see a magnifying glass (like in the old version) and pressing ctrl+f and then typing is not doing anything (Like in GNOME 49).
I searched myself, but I did not find a solution or many others having a similar problem.
In the gitlab of GNOME gtk, there is this merge request, where the search was forgotten, but also there is a commit where the search is added. Because this release is already published, I assume it should already be fixed?
However the Nautilus Issue is still open:
How is your experience? Does any of you know a solution? And can you also not choose the search functionality in the application chooser?
