I tried installing EOS using the default ISO offered on website. But after repeated failures, i tried it with this weekly iso build.
Though the latter worked better than the first iso, but it eventually failed at 96% installation with the above error.
Can someone please help me with this. I am new to Arch.
Thank you!
Welcome at the purple fun
first think is that you have selected xfce4 and kde Desktop to be both installed… better not to do that.
The issue that let the install itself fail is a package name change from solid → solid5 if you install KDE open the package list on the packages screen and unselect solid in the list …
Seems you do not get the hotfix we send out hour ago… can happen if you can not access github or gitlab or both…
what was the issue with release ISO?
If it was the same failing with pacman error it is mostlikely the same issue only that the hotfix was not applied to the release ISO when you tried it… but take the weekly rebuild it is the same.
Thanks a lot!! it finally worked.
I removed “solid” from installation list and it worked.
Honestly i was a lil hesitant on installing an arch based distro thinking of toxic arch communities.
But EOS community seems really helpful.
Eagerly looking forward to learn more and more about arch and EOS!!!
Thanks.
