I’m still having fun playing with Xubuntu 22.04 Minimal. One thing I’ve found while doing so is that there’s a plugin that makes use of xfce4-genmon-plugin to display info such as Artist and Title in the Xfce panel when you’re playing music etc. in a MPRIS capable app:
It’s a bit of a hack, but works very well.
The Cinnamon Sound applet has this ability built in, and there’s also GNOME extensions such as this one, but I wasn’t expecting something to be available for Xfce.
