Mouse pointer size doesn't change in settings

I’m running Cinnamon DE on EOS in a fresh install. I can’t seem to set the settings for mouse to change the size of the pointer on the screen. You can move the slider, but nothing happens. So I need a specific theme or something?

It’s hard to say.
In any case, you can do the following:

  • install dconf-editor (yay dconf-editor)
  • run it (menu or terminal)
  • open path org–>cinnamon–>desktop–>interface
  • edit, save, close and reboot (or restart cinnamon)

I tried that but it has no affect on the size.

I went into settings > Themes and changed the Mouse to Default and that allowed me to change the size with the Mouse Size slidebar

Seems to be a defect in used theme
