Mouse not registering thumb-button clicks: no libinput events

I am having a weird issue… I am using a Razer Basilisk V3 Pro (USB, not wireless) and i have everything working as far as lighting/dpi etc, except for The thumb-button.

Specifically, I am referring to the lower thumb button which is usually used as a DPI “clutch” to temporarily adjust the DPI while being held.

I am using KDE 6 on wayland. I have looked at all the libinput events and for the life of me i cant find where anything happens when i click/unclick the button. KDE dosnt recognize the button at all if i try to re/map it.

I’m a bit lost, but Im loving EndeavourOS! I just would like to use this very useful button on this mouse. Everything works in windows, so its not the mouse. I even looked into changing the mouse kernel driver but stopped short of ruining my install.

@Skotic
Have you tested

sudo pacman -S openrazer-daemon

As a test rebooted kernels ‘survived’ no such a device though.
https://openrazer.github.io/#download and
input-remapper ?

already reinstalled “extra/openrazer-daemon 3.8.0-1”

input-remapper can see the device (as does openRGB for the LED control) but neither affect the thumb-button input.

it’s as if the button-click dosnt even exist.
