iv’e tried everything i can to refresh and what what mirrors , but i cannot install anything .
mirrors keep showing errors

updated mirrors in welcome screen ( arch + reflecter-simple and eos mirrors )
nothing works
i just freshed installed eos offline , and then updated with yay which seemed to go well
but now nothing happens when i want to install a package or even run yay
all mirror errors

You likely need to refresh/update;

sudo pacman -Syu

Which is also one of the reasons why it is generally suggested to just use the same command for installs (not a simple -S);

sudo pacman -Syu copyq

it get stuck there and then after like 5min i press ctrl+c to stop it and i get this

So you still are not up to date .. but you arent able to make any connections to the mirrors really.

Did you .. set something funny for the network? Some kind of VPN or similar?

In a restrictive jurisdiction (“Great Firewall”, etc)?

Does the internet work generally?
Can you .. i dunno .. check the weather?

my internet works fine anywhere else

like i said just after the fresh install i ran yay and it worked , then after that , nothing
so maybe something updated that threw my mirrors out the window ? lol

When you say that, are you referring to that specific device or others on the network as well?
On that computer, can you open a browser and access the internet normally?
Have you tried pinging any of those domains, for example:

ping mirror.rackspace.com

Also, have you tried changing your DNS servers to something else?

i mean the internet is working fine on this same pc .
i pinged google and cloudfare yesterday , worked fine.
haven’t changed DNS servers.

Try running reflector directly. To get 20 mirrors sorted by the fastest, run

sudo reflector --verbose --sort rate -l 20 --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist

If update still fails, please try a slightly different mirror ranking command:

Just out of curiosity, can you comment out this line in your pacman.conf

So it reads:

#DownloadUser = alpm

Edit: It probably won’t make a difference, but maybe? Since that has been there for a while, I doubt its any relation. Nevermind…

I think it is better to be uncommented (but one can temporarily test if that changes anything).

But near the DownloadUser there seems to be another setting:

#CheckSpace

which I’d uncomment.

Got the same issues, my mirrors do not work after pacnew update. Fixed it by using the welcome app.
