Micron Drops Consumer Sales

Let’s be real here and that is if these worthless companies didn’t believe they needed a 1,000% profit margin or more they would be far far far far far more affordable.

“Thankfully, you won’t feel much difference in day-to-day computing even with this constrained RAM, thanks to the MacBook Neo’s ability to use a part of the SSD as a virtual RAM when needed.”

Thank God that Apple continue to revolutionise the tech world.

Glad i bought my 64gb memory in 2023 for my notebook :joy:

And recently Apple introduced the revolutionary new app which will redefine iOS and iPADOS completely.

It is called Calculator

With NOTHING even close to the speed of REAL ram.

More like reinvent the

“I wonder if this has enough RAM, … . This [entry-level laptop] probably already isn’t for you.”—Marques Brownlee

So is this a new incarnation of the slot left void by Macbook Air?

What is the slot next to the 3.5 mm headphone jack? Is that a SD card or microSD card reader? Or something else?

Thank god, they have not gotten rid of the 3.5 mm headphone jack.

And does it get more than 6 hours of battery backup time?

Wiki says, there is no SDXC card slot, maybe sound box.

They are being stingy with the ports arent they? Having a USB 2.0 helps, with peripherals like Keyboard, Mice, trackpad, Game controller, etc. But only 2. It would be good to have a SD card slot where I can just slot in say a 512 GB Microsd card and use it.

Though would love to know what is the battery life and can we put Arch/EOS on it?

Yes they are pretty but will they handle Linux?

It’s using the A 18 Pro SoC. Up so far Asahi Linux only supports the Apple M1 & M2 generations of apple silicone, not their mobile SoCs. Even those early generations aren’t feature complete and lack features such as Thunderbolt connectivity or support of display output via USB-C up so far. The M3 has been released in 2023 and is still unsupported. In short, the later generations are essentially vendor-locked. And I’m pretty certain that no one has been able to get linux to run on a iPhone 16 yet.

In short, even on the Macs with M1 and M2 SoCs, you would miss out on apples tight integration between their hardware and software and might be better off with using MacOS instead of Asahi Linux, at least in terms of quality of life.
