One minuscule silver lining that has occurred to me is that moves like this will further slow the adoption of Windows 11 by making new W11 compatible hardware more expensive. This is likely to lead to further Linux adoption on existing machines.
Maybe AI will finally & accidentally bring the Year of the Linux Desktop in 2026
