Little bit of history, I worked for a grinding wheel manufacturer in the early 80s, through to around 1996-7, my first computer ran C/CPM and I had dBase II and Supercalc (3? I think).
I came across this https://github.com/maaslalani/sheets on reddit and thought it was cool, I wondered if I could do better, so I had a go, started during a very boring and one-sided Rugby League match on Sunday and finished earlier today.
I used codex with ChatGPT5.4:
Influenced by Supercalc, added some more modern features, CUA keystrokes, cell colouring, and mouse/touchpad support.
Probably never get used, but I had fun (and frustration). It needs a better name, I thought;
- slopss
- barm - barm is beer slop used to leaven bread, here in the North of England (historically, donβt think it is used much anymore!)
enjoy..
