Shortly after the upgrade to Mesa 25.2.1, I started having artifacts (wrong colors, missing text & icons “jumping’ around & disappearing). I tried several things to pin down the problem without much success.
Reinstalled GTK4, Nautilus & Mutter….no change. Logs did not show anything out of the norm…..
I then ran Nautilus with debugging on & was getting a large amount of warnings about errors with Mesa layers. My debug check:
G_MESSAGES_DEBUG=all NAUTILUS_DEBUG=Window nautilus
Currently, I’m downgraded to Mesa 25.1.7-1 without errors…..Just a FYI for anyone who comes across the same problems. This “could” be an issue with the Intel ARC Xe driver & Mesa.

There is a newer version of mesa than you have - 25.2.1-1 - which may fix the issue. There is also a new kernel this morning.

Z890 Nova WiFi
Kernel: 6.16.3-zen1-1-zen (as of last night-still same problem)
Intel Ultra 7 265KF (20) @ 3.900GHz
GPU: Intel Battlemage G21 [Arc B580]
Memory: 9650MiB / 47833MiB
I think I’ll wait for the next Mesa & recheck…I reinstalled Mesa late last night…..had the same problems.
All in the bug report….but I’m adding it below.
