Mate audio volume level on restart

Hey, all.

I’ve installed Artmis, I’m impressed.
I’m a fan of Mate DE, so yes, that is what I’m using.
My system is a Dell OptiPlex 9020, with i7 4790 in the CPU socket.

When I shutdown the system, the volume of the audio is set to 1%, because that works for me.
When I restart the system, the restored volume is at 4%, a bit too loud, so I want perfect restoration.

I’ve tried shutdown and restart after not using any audio player, I get the same issue, I assume the issues lies in the sound system configuration.

I believe the full Endeavour installation is still stock aside from updating daily.

inxi -A:

[mmmmna@Opti9020 ~]$ inxi -A
Audio:
Device-1: Intel Xeon E3-1200 v3/4th Gen Core Processor HD Audio
    driver: snd_hda_intel
Device-2: Intel 8 Series/C220 Series High Definition Audio
    driver: snd_hda_intel
  Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.18.16-arch1-1 running: yes
  Sound Server-2: PipeWire v: 0.3.56 running: yes
[mmmmna@Opti9020 ~]$

I believe I have tried a few weeks ago to delete the alsa rc file, but whatever I did, no change in behavior was observed.

Anyone have a suggestion on how to get the audio volume to perfectly store/restore?

Just a note, I merely assume this may be a sound system issue, it could be a Mate configuration which I cannot seem to locate.

Well, I believe this may have been corrected by a recent update.
A] volume control seems to start with the DE, didn’t do that at fresh install nor for weeks after.
B] volume level on restarting is as I left it.

Also of note, Current level of 20% is softer than former level of 4%.

Ahh, the mysteries.
