Yes. That is the case i see here also and I’ve kind of given up on Tim Hortons. They can’t even make a good coffee anymore and their menu is not any good either. Everything is frozen and or heated up now and not freshly baked. They’ve lost most of my business and I’ll go out of my way to bypass them. Winters coming early this year i hear! Lots of snow and cold! Not looking forward to this.
Roger that! Pinged. Thanks for confirming
Ta muchly! at ya from this side of the
pound pond! Cheers
Edit: autocorrected initially to pound, didn’t notice till now while having a night time snack. Back to
Well, thank you very much! I look forward to getting more typing time in routinely in the near future with comments and/or posts!
Yesss, Sar!
Love it! Ha! That’s so awesome! Mmmmm bacon
Sweet! Thanks for that, I will definitely be part taking as time permits and going check out those links this evening!
As for the Windows laptops dying daily, well.. as long as they aren’t ThinkPad’s, then I’m good with that. Err, hold up a tick… wouldn’t it be better if Windows did die off them, so they can get new life on Linux systems?
Hi-Diddly-Ho, southern Neighborino!
Floor hockey, heck ya! Back in middle/highschool.
Ice hockey? Heck no! Too cold on the ice for me! Brrr
Thanks!

YES! Great meme, that reminds me of this glorious 30 second clip of Ron sampling "bacon"!
Thanks for the welcome!
EDIT(/walk of shame): oh geeze, I was so excited replying to you, looking up the clip of Ron educating the vegan bacon guy, watching it a few times over, and giggling like a kid again - that I completely forgot to paste the link

I lived in California years ago for quite a while. Never had to think about snow or cold weather!
Summers here are good during the day time, nighttime can get a bit chilly, you’re right on that forsure!
Last year record temps hit 49’c (~120’f too
for my liking
You did a good job with that informative thread post! Appreciate it!
And thanks, I’ll check out link right now! Yahoooo!
Ohhh, I 100% concur with you on the food aspect of their business. I think, I’ve had a couple of their sub years ago, the odd bowl of chili maybe.
the truth is, I load up on timbits each time!
I eat every single one before I make it to work
The coffees aint so bad with all the extra sugar
Thats Peameal Bacon Mr!
Welcome fellow Canucker (assume you are in the new Big Smoke near Vancouver:?
I’m a TO boy … but I’m OK too. Check out @ricklinux who is afraid to love Gnome
So what hardware did you install on?
Sandwiches with Peameal bacon are well-known in Toronto.
It’s been a very long time since I visited, so I can’t remember specifically, but I do have a vague memory of people raving about how that was the city’s signature culinary item.
Ohhhh, what!? I’ve just read your second message! T-Dot Rocks!
I swear I never even read the second comment before scrolling on down to quote-reply the following message! You guy has some gnarly thunder storms out there.
1% battery on this device. I’m just on my patio. Will edit this when I head inside and reply the rest.

eh-yo!
Nah, I haven’t lived in the city for years. Too rainy, the winters were way too slushy and on top of all that, paying $500 just for a parking space in a building where the rent was already $2500.
Much later on, the decision to relocate became a no brainer, as I watched the mayhem unfold below from my condo moments after Boston won the Stanley cup in the finals.
… afraid to love Gnome
Yikes! I couldn’t imagine using anything else
Not a fan of kde, just prefer simple, spend most of the time in cli. Recently took on learning neovim.
So what hardware did you install on?
Thinkpad X1’s - both xfce, Thinkcentre M9xx - gnome. Dell 7490 - gnome. T440p will stay as Arch i3wm until sometime this winter, then it will be Sway.
Nothing to love about Gnome. There isn’t any pancakes, syrup or any bacon for that matter. It only comes with extensions. KDE comes with added desert!
Edit: Anyone for a latte?
I LOL a bit about Toronto having a signature dish. I grew up in the Greek area (which is surrounded by the Indian, Chinese and Vietnamese area). So I would say that Toronto has a little bit of the world all over, just a matter where your wandering. In my case I live in the far North so I get a mix of Iranian, Afghani and Israeli. Food and Culture is a beautiful thing (just like the Endeavour Community).
For Peameal the best place I have gotten it is at St Lawerence market (http://www.stlawrencemarket.com/).
At the moment I also only go to the City to work and see my parents. I like my neck of the woods (as I am surrounded by farms and ranches). But as you mentioned … more urban sprawl so i might have to move farther away.
All my computers are Lenovo\Thinkpads + 1 Acer. Whenever I upgrade perhaps I will take a dive to an M1\M2 mac. But that will be years away. Sway is tempting me too … but I would sooner go to KDE land once Wayland is mature. And I mean mature as in not having to fiddle monthly between regression bugs .

Fair enough. To me, it’s just simple and elegant. The only extensions I use is user theme, gtile, and a few others. Although it does get annoying every time that gnome does an update something breaks with one of the extensions. Might have to give KDE a try again. It’s been a couple years and that was when I first tried Manjaro.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I love Greek food. Mmmm! Also was (am) a fan of jerk chicken kitchens and bistros.

Sweet! I used to visit some friends in Rexdale(?), if I recall that was in the northern part too?

Thanks for that, I’ll book mark it and try to hit up next time there.

That’s great. Probably fresher air there rather than in the city too. I love the outdoors and being around nature surrounding areas - it’s quiet and life just seems simpler.

High five!

Definitely nice hardware, however I just don’t think I would be able to justify the price points. Hope you do get a chance to get one someday.

I’m getting more and more tempted now to try KDE again. In the last couple weeks since @ricklinux teased me with the “added desert” part of KDE, I’ve looked into it a bit here and there, and it sure does like pretty, the fancy things one can do with KDE’s desktop rules, etc… yum
Cheers
