Lutris: No module named lutris

So I fired up Lutris to install a game yesterday and I get this sort of output:

~/games
❯ python --version
Python 3.13.3

~/games
❯ pip list
Package Version
------- -------
pip 25.0.1

~/games
❯ lutris
Error importing Lutris application module: No module named 'lutris'

I’ve also tried pyenv’s 3.12 and 3.11 with no change. python /usr/bin/lutris gives the same error.

None of what I see online is helping. Anyone have an idea?

I’m freshly updated yesterday. My system specs if relevant:

If lutris is an aur package, just clean build it.

It’s in extras. I’ve tried reinstalling it but that did nothing.

Trief fix described here?

I hadn’t seen that bug report so thanks for pointing it out. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything under ~/.local/lib. I think I’m going to try the linux gaming reddit and see if anyone there is having the same problem.

Thanks to anyone who replied or just looked, though.

Just in case this happens to anyone else, what fixed it was deleting ~/.local/share/lutris I didn’t investigate further.
