Lots of freezing

hello, as of recent (like 3 days ago) my computer started freezing anywhere from instantly when i reach the desktop to an hour, it does seem to happen more in high cpu usage situations but i’m not entirely sure

It seems to happen mostly when i click on things as well? but not just as it also has happened when i moved a window or even was doing nothing.
i’ve ruled out ram and disk issues through a bit of testing, i’ve also tried switching to lts, checked my cable connections, messed with the nvidia drivers and that’s about all i’ve tried so far

specs:
i5-7600k
GTX 1660
16gb of ddr4 ram

Just a stupid thing to look at is check the ventilator for piled up dust.

When the van cannot cool down the chips, it could process random freezes.

Does your computer gets heaten up?

the cpu did because i’d messed up something but thats also been fixed, the fans were cleaned recently as well

i forgot to specify that, when it freezes, i can still move my mouse around and click on stuff and i still get audio and its just frozen visually

I just reinstalled and it seems fixed, taking the chance to try out cinnamon.
