Hi friends. Does anyone know if you can use live wallpapers on EOS KDE 6.0?
I’ve seen live wallpapers in .gif format, but I don’t know if they are for windows, or if a special format is needed for linux, or if they are not compatible with KDE.
I found this live wallpaper website, apparently they are mp4 videos, not GIF files as I thought.
I would like to be able to use that wallpaper if possible, since I can’t find any Arch/EOS themed live wallpapers.
Now I’m going to take a look at those programs/plugins that you recommended to try to use .mp4 backgrounds, since I can’t find any gif backgrounds that aren’t 8-bit.
Thank you for the link of the wallpapers, I only had a still version of the mario one and have went to animated it a few times, this one has a bit too much movement but it’s given me some great ideas
I will not be turning off my vpn, so I will not be going to the evil reddit link. Also, variety will not open gifs. Only still images. At least for me anyway.
Sorry for the off topic, but are you saying that reddit can detect and ban VPNs? My reddit account was banned for using Tor last year, before that I could use Tor on Reddit. I created another account and got banned, it took me a while to realize that the problem was that I was using Tor, but I didn’t know that they also had this new system of detecting VPNs.
Yeah I noticed that behaviour this week when I was playing around with wireguard, they probably just track and block known endpoints for various VPN providers.
Same thing the streaming companies use (alongside their usual geofencing tricks, naturally).
A VPN doesn’t do anything magic to become unedectable at the exit point, any service can still see that the traffic is coming from a specific place and if they’re aware that place is a known exit point for a VPN it’s simple enough to block - the point is that traffic can’t be traced back to you by anybody, not to look as though you’re not using a VPN at all.
