Well, yeah. An extension needs to declare that it is compatible with a certain version of Gnome (the supported Gnome versions are listed in a config file of the extension), and that gets checked by the system. This workaround disables the compatibility validation. Nevertheless, the extension in question still needs to support / work properly on said Gnome version of course
But most of the time they indeed run just fine on newer versions of Gnome
Hidetopbar works, but it’s settings do not open, this is the only problem so far
Wonder how long it will take for the major extensions to support Gnome 40.
