Linux and Vintage Lenses

In the spring of 2019 I ditched Windows. All these years I did everything on Linux. From regular internet browsing to gaming. From processing photos to editing video. From book designto DTP. And anything and everything in between.

A few years prior to that I had decided to shoot vintage manual lenses exclussively.

Until fall of last year when I thought I’d get with the times, upgrade my tools and go back to Windows, Lightroom and modern, auto-focus lenses.

I lasted just a little over six weeks until I was back to my old habits: Linux, RawTherapee and vintage lenses.

Hello my Romanian friend. I used to shoot and service/repair vintage lenses up until about 8 years ago. I pretty much sold all of my own collection but now I’m intrigued to go to the outbuilding to see what I kept. I also keep toying with going back and shooting film as I like the manual feel of the cameras, I kept a mint Pentax MX and a K1000 (which I love as it has an analog needle light meter).

Glad you have found your happy place again. I have shot almost exclusively black & white for the past 20 years and prefer to focus on form & texture. I really must post some of my pictures on the forum thread: https://forum.endeavouros.com/t/photos-youve-taken/11302/1336

If you’re happening to be selling any of those, I might be interested.
