Let's have a drink together! What's in your glass today?

I love how your version of the carlsberg bottle looks!
Gives it a more ‘vintage’ feeling

Sweden has got that too. One krona (about 10 cents/0.1 Euro) and between 2 and 4 for the PET bottles.

Depending where you are in the USA, we also have it. Here in the tax friendly state of California we pay $.05 under 20oz and $.10 over

Here in Germany it was introduced a long time ago. About 5 or 6 € for the container of the bottles and about 8 Eurocent per glas bottle. For most PET bottles and cans you pay a deposit of 25 Eurocent. For some plastic bottles you don’t pay deposit at all. Just for trash bin.

The container itself has deposit of 1.50 € plus the mentioned 0.08€ per bottle. It depends by region if you have crates consisting 20 bottles of size 0.5l or 24 bottles of size 0.33l.

Let’s investigate another brewery that’s new to me, Island Dog Brewing (South Portland, ME USA). This is their Captain Tucker Cream Ale.

After all the sours that I’ve been drinking lately, I’m going to have to re-calibrate my tastebuds for this one .

Pours with a medium, moderately dense, fairly lomg-lasting head. Aroma is subtle, with a bit of hoppiness evident.

First sip: OK, if I was tasting this blindly, I would immediately think “an American take on a British bitter.” The hoppiness is mild, but unmistakably American in character - that’s gotta be Cascade hops, maybe with some Willamette. It’s balanced a wee bit hoppier than I would like, but that’s personal preference. Medium-bodied with just a slight “creaminess” to the mouthfeel.

A very good beer, not up to the standards of the great British bitters, but better than most American pale ales that I have sampled through the years.

Looking at their website, I see Island Dog Brewing makes some sours, at least one milk stout, and even a dark wheat beer. I will have to check out a couple more beers from them.

Ending my Friday with a Camacho cigar and my usual Casamigo Añejo with seltzer and lime. All with a side of Endeavor on my patio.

Cheers everyone!

I know…cans. When I decide which one(s) I like, I can get it in bottles.
Going to try the Vanilla Porter first.

EDIT:

It was last night, but it still counts.

Pours pitch black with lots of strong coffee aroma. Drinks very smooth with good coffee flavor as well as vanilla, cocoa and a touch of sweetness. Surprisingly easy to drink, given the ABV of 10.5%. Very enjoyable, will buy again. :beers:
